Lou Pitchoun's private outdoor hot tub, under a covered terrace, in the Tarn

Gîte with private hot tub in the Tarn

Two addresses for two guests, with a tub you share with nobody. One outdoors, facing the vines. The other indoors, within medieval stone walls.

The point

Private hot tub: what it really changes

Searching for “a gîte with a hot tub in the Tarn” and searching for “a gîte with a private hot tub” are not the same thing. Many listings advertise a hot tub that is shared: with other guests, with the owners, or by time slot. You arrive, and the tub is taken.

At both of our addresses, the tub is yours for the whole stay, with no slots to book and no neighbours. It's the only promise that matters when that's what you've come for.

That leaves one real question nobody talks about: indoors or outdoors? We have both, and they don't suit the same mood.

Outdoors

Lou Pitchoun — the hot tub facing the vines, in Gaillac

A 25 m² cottage for two, set in the heart of a 3-hectare estate, between woods and the vines of the Gaillac wine country. The hot tub (jacuzzi) is installed under a covered terrace: enjoy it in the rain or in the sun, in the depths of winter or in August.

The temperature is adjustable: piping hot for starry evenings, cooled down in summer to unwind after a day of wine tasting. Bathrobes, bed linen and bath towels are provided — you put down your bags, and that's it.

All around: a private terrace looking onto the woods, birdsong at breakfast, fibre broadband for those who stay on for a day of remote working. Gaillac is 5 minutes away, Cordes-sur-Ciel 20, Albi 30, the A68 motorway 10.

Indoors

Casa Glèsia SPA — the indoor spa, in Castelnau-de-Montmiral

This is the one that stands apart: a private indoor spa, in a dedicated room, inside an 80 m² medieval loft at the foot of the Romanesque church of Castelnau-de-Montmiral, one of France's "Plus Beaux Villages".

Being indoors changes everything, especially in summer. An outdoor hot tub in the middle of July in the Tarn is often too hot to be pleasant before 10 pm. Here, the room is sheltered from the sun — and the spa is warm the moment you arrive, with nothing to switch on. The temperature can be set to your liking: gentler in summer, piping hot in winter.

The building dates from 1300: exposed local stone, old beams, a direct view of the Romanesque church from the living room. The loft has one bedroom, a lounge, a fitted kitchen and a bathroom; the spa has a room of its own.

The rules, stated plainly

Both of our addresses are non-smoking and do not accept pets. Quiet is requested from 10 pm to 9 am — that's what keeps the place special for everyone.

End-of-stay cleaning is not included, and we charge no cleaning fee: in return, we ask you to leave the accommodation clean and tidy. It's our way of keeping prices fair.

Finally, we live a few minutes away: available if you need us, invisible if you prefer complete privacy.

Frequently asked questions

What we're asked most often

Is the hot tub really private?

Yes. At both Lou Pitchoun and Casa Glèsia SPA, the tub is reserved for the guests on the booking, for the whole of their stay. There are no time slots and no sharing with other guests or with the owners.

Can it be used in winter?

Yes, both tubs are heated and adjustable. The one at Lou Pitchoun sits under a covered terrace, so it can be used whatever the weather; the one at Casa Glèsia SPA is in a dedicated indoor room.

And in high summer, isn't a hot tub too hot?

That's the real question. At Casa Glèsia SPA, the spa is indoors, in a room sheltered from the sun: you don't suffer the heat outside. It is warm when you arrive, and the temperature can be set to your liking — gentler in summer, piping hot in winter. At Lou Pitchoun, the same goes for the settings, and the terrace is covered and shaded.

How many guests can stay?

Two, in both cases. Lou Pitchoun is a 25 m² cottage and Casa Glèsia SPA an 80 m² loft, both designed for a couple.

Are towels and bathrobes provided?

Yes. Bed linen, bath towels and bathrobes are provided, at no extra charge.

Where are these two gîtes?

Lou Pitchoun is 5 minutes from Gaillac, in the middle of the vineyards. Casa Glèsia SPA is in the heart of Castelnau-de-Montmiral, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, about fifteen minutes from the Gaillac wine estates.

Can I book without going through a platform?

Yes, and it's actually cheaper: booking direct on locantoperlic.com means no platform commission, with real-time availability and rates.
