Between the Gaillac vineyards and listed villages, here is everything you need to plan your stay around our gîtes.
Welcome to the Gaillac area
In the west of Occitanie, South-West France, the Tarn unfolds a landscape of vine-covered hillsides, medieval bastides (fortified towns) and lush green valleys. Our gîtes sit right in the heart of this setting: in Gaillac, capital of one of the oldest vineyards in France, and in Castelnau-de-Montmiral, officially one of France's "Plus Beaux Villages". Plenty of scope to alternate wine tastings, heritage walks and afternoons by the water.
Heritage
Perched above the Vère valley, this 13th-century bastide charms with its arcaded square, its stone houses and its timeless atmosphere. Wander between craft workshops, shaded café terraces and viewpoints over the countryside.
Our lofts Casa Glèsia and Casa Glèsia SPA are in the very heart of the village. To plan your visit, the La Toscane Occitane tourist office lists Castelnau's monuments, markets and events.
Wine tourism
AOC Gaillac is one of the oldest wine-growing areas in France. Native grape varieties, characterful cellars and family-run estates line a wine route made for taking your time: tastings, cellar visits and meeting the winemakers.
From Lo Canto, a former wine cellar (chai), and Lou Pitchoun, you are right in the heart of the vineyards. Lo Canto is also listed by the La Toscane Occitane tourist office.
